On 14th December 2017, Media students Cameron Hibbert, Jamie Lockyear and Alex Ionut Pulea developed high-quality video content for the prestigious end-of-year awards evening that celebrated former students’ achievements. Their accomplishments were recognised by Principal, Sarbdip Noonan and, to celebrate their great work each student was recognised and rewarded with a cash prize of £20.
Alex Ionut Pulea, Level 3 Media Production and Technology student told us ‘’Both Jamie and I filmed the videos on the evening and despite the challenges that we had with the camera and moving with limited space, we overcame these by thinking-on-our-feet and making the most of the evening. I have applied to study Media Production at University and really look forward to a career in Media’’.
Jamie Lockyear, Level 3 Media student added, ‘’We learnt how to take better shots and how best to handle the camera when tasked with a real event.’’
We know that creative industries are a very successful element of the British economy and that media surrounds us 24-hours a day, through several mediums including social media, television and beyond. Stanmore College recognises the growing industry and offers a wide range of courses in both general and specialist media areas and, as part of this, challenges Media students to work on creative projects to encourage their understanding of the craft.
Congratulations to all three winners! May their hard work shine!
