Level 2 Award in Supporting Individuals with Additional needs

Course outline:

This professional development qualification provides essential knowledge and skills to anyone wanting to actively support individuals with additional needs. Units include: the meaning of learning disability, support, legislation, communication and planning.

Entry requirements: You should be at least 16 years old. There are no other set entry requirements.

What can it lead to?

The Award provides a direct progression route to Level 2 & 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care as they share a number of units or the Level 3 Award and Certificate in Supporting Individuals with Learning Disabilities.

Who is the course aimed at? 

The Award is suitable for people who come into contact with individuals with additional needs as part of their job. This could include people in community and volunteering roles or working in education, leisure and employment support. Learners should be working in a setting where they are supporting children, young people or adults with additional needs.

How will you be assessed?

You will be assessed by your Tutor or Assessor using a range of methods. This could include direct observation in the workplace, a portfolio of evidence, written assignments or a task.
