This one year part-time course is suitable for those who are working in the following roles: Teaching Assistant, Learning Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or Special Needs Assistant.

Entry requirements

Successful achievers of Level 1 Early Years. Volunteering or Employed in a School as a Teaching Assistant for at least 12 weeks before starting the course. Placement/Employment has to be in a Primary School assisting children in the classroom from the age of 7 years and onwards.

You need to bring a letter from your school confirming your voluntary or employment as a Teaching Assistant for a minimum of 6 hours/week.

If you are 19-23 years old and do not have a full Level 2 qualification (GCSEs A-C), you may qualify for free tuition fees on a Level 2 course.

What can it lead to?

Level2 qualifications for Teaching Assistants or Early Years employment.

What are the course outcomes?

A level2 qualification recognised by schools to support Teachers in the classroom.

How will you be assessed?

Portfolio of evidence set by CACHE to include reflective practice and direct observation.
