ALUMNI - Past student Ritesh Sunnasy comes back to Stanmore College for a visit

Ritesh Sunnasy, one of our ex students came to visit Vasu and the rest of the science team at Stanmore College today.  Ritesh left in 2007 and is now studying medicine at Birmingham.  He popped in to say hello to the teachers and update them on his progress at University.  He has just finished his last exams and has a four week break before starting back on the wards - he’ll be allocated an NHS hospital in the West Midlands for another year.

From April 2011, he’ll be taking his elective (which is a seven week work placement that can be taken anywhere in the world). He’s thought about choosing a placement in India which would mean he’d be thrown in at the deep end but there will be fantastic opportunities to work in local hospitals and even the chance to go out to village communities, a worthwhile challenge and a total change from UK medicine!

Ritesh came to Stanmore College in 2005 after moving back from Mauritius, to study A levels in Maths, chemistry, biology and physics.  He got 4 straight As (before A*s existed!) and the highest score in Maths (298 out of 300) and chemistry for his year - it will be a tough job to beat him!  Ritesh also did an AS in critical thinking with Craig Chester and used to play football in the local park during his breaks between lessons.

His plans are to become a doctor and he is contemplating specialising in cardiology.

Good luck from all of us at Stanmore College!

Ritesh Sunnasy & Vasu Krishnaswamy

NB:  We are always keen to hear from our past students to know what they have been doing after their time at Stanmore College.
