Stanmore College wins Mayor of London’s Inspirational Staff Award

Stanmore College was held in high esteem on the evening of 5th October when Harriet D’Cruz and former Principal, Sarbdip Noonan, received a Mayor of London ‘Inspirational staff’ award for Adult Learners. Over 200 nominations were received for the nine Awards available and the Chair of Stanmore College’s Board of Governors, Gideon Schulman’s nomination was received favourably for Stanmore against many of the larger London Colleges.

Harriet D’Cruz took the Award plaque back to the College and all the tutors involved in Adult Learning are to be credited in the College for all their efforts. Sarbdip and Stanmore College’s staff have done a sterling job and they really do transform the lives of our adult learners! They give them the skills, knowledge and much more, but above all they give them the confidence to aspire to achieve further qualifications to get better jobs to support their families and better service the community that they live in.

The awards ceremony was held in the new City Hall in London’s Docklands and a big band was made up of Morley College adult students. Overall, it was an inspiring evening, with some very touching life stories.
