Course Content
There is a growing demand for the use of British sign language as a preferred means of communication for deaf adults and children in the UK. This course will help gain confidence in the basic skills of British Sign Language
This course is suitable for beginners and will give an introduction into basic communication with Deaf people. You will learn a list of everyday phrases on a variety of different topics. You will also gain an understanding of Deaf Awareness.
Course Outcomes
You will be gain confident and an awareness of communicating with Deaf people.
Progression
Level 1 in British Sign Language
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification, but you will need to complete a questionnaire at the start of the course. As this is a short course, an 85% attendance level is required.
Assessment
An Informal assessment at the start and throughout the course by by a Deaf tutor.
During the course you will be required to give feedback and complete a short questionnaire at the end of the course. Each participant will receive a certificate at the end of the course.
Equipment
Pen and Notepad.
